For sale-

Journal Entry: Wed May 7, 2008, 6:57 AM
My recent posting is up for sale here: [link]

Bid so I can feed my geckos..!

If you remember my entry, "Gecko Keeper", I am planning on having 15 high quality art glicee prints made of this drawing. I will -NOT- be doing this if I do not get a good enough response. As the link explains, the print making process and the prints themselves are expensive to produce. If you would like to reserve a copy of this artwork, please send me an email to sarahw@iastate.edu. Because it's adorable. :p Plus, I remember you specifically showing me it, saying I would love the colours in him. Which I did! I had it saved on my computer once upon a time, but I've had to reformat twice since then. :x

I ran into a "Kestral" the other day. Made me think about you again. Hope you're doing well, your stuff's still awesome as always.

P.S. Hi. You're still my favourite artist. =)

I haven't tried art rage yet... I hope to sometime soon when I have time for it. :} It looks nice, like painter... but perhaps less complicated! ;}
~KestrelShatterwind:iconKestrelShatterwind: Oct 3, 2007, 9:18:28 AM
You know, now that you say that, I think that might be what the problem is. When I work in multiple layers, I assume that they work the same way that photoshop's layers do. If the underlying color of the layer underneath is transparent, photoshop's anti-aliasing feature fades into the transparency. But in painter, you could have a thousand transparent layers, and if one somewhere underneath has a color on it, it's going to pick up that color. Painter is bizarre sometimes, and you're right, it gets frustrating trying to get it to bend to your will :( but it makes with such nice arts, I can't do without it! As an off-topic question, I'm curious, have you tried Art Rage? I'm really curious to see what kinds of tools it has...

o_O That's weird! Yah, usually all you need to do is make sure that ';pick up underlaying color' is marked and you're good to go. I never have a problem with it picking up white (er, unless white is what is 'behind' it) I wonder if you have a setting turned on or off someplace that effects it... That's one of my frustrations with Painter. It's -so- easy to accidentally turn a setting on or off, then something doesn't work, and you CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY!! I've had to restore the defaults often. *kicks Painter's shin*

Gah, your art is sooooo much more roll-worthy than mine! And also, I saw that... Thanks so much, I'll need to try that out. I was frustrating myself over it, because I thought that all I needed was to click the box for "pick up underlying color", but every time I make a light stroke (and at every initial stroke even) the brush picked up white from its own layer... which made no sense. :P it's 3 AM right now and I have to be up in 4 hours so I'll take a proper look at your link tomorrow sometime after a nap, haha. You're so cool, Nambroth *squeeze* :D

Also, I replied to your comment on my gallery, but I forgot to add, I made this. The painting it's demo-ing is crappy, but I had to do it at breakneck speeds.

I hope it's helpful!
